NICECAST ERROR CONNECTION FAILED UPDATE
this will be done for the next drop of sc_serv so even if Nicecast (and others) don't update things then it should improve support for legacy v1 sources. The second is the server monitors those header values and fills them in automatically if not set. however i think the first option is the better option and is more universal. or they could add an option which only fills those values or doesn't send them at all (as they're not supported in v2 servers) if the broadcaster decides they are connecting to a v2 DNAS. The first is Nicecast really should fill in icy-aim and icy-irc with N/A and icy-icq with 0 if nothing is entered (the Winamp Source DSP does this and filling it with something won't affect handling with older DNAS versions to my knowledge). So, there's two things which can be done to resolve this (which i think is affecting things with other people on other platforms as well). if i disable the check for the size of the value after the colon then Nicecast will connect to the server without any issue. Using a dummy setup, above is what i see in the header being sent from Nicecast. If you clicked 'no' you would have blocked this application in os x firewall - you will need to allow incoming traffic for this app, and possibly specify the ports 8000-8001. it said something like "allow nicecast incoming traffic?" When you opened up nicecast for the first time you would have been presented with a message. Port forwarding/port mapping/virtual servering allows this traffic to go where it's needed, so listeners can connect to your stream. The machine which is running Nicecast needs to receive all the requests for port 8000 (by default) which are coming in from the Internet. insert this line '127.0.0.1 ' Be sure to re-save the file without an extension.

The hosts file has no extension and is different from lmhosts and is usually located here c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

Note that this forwarding only needs to be TCP, you can leave UDP alone.Ī router takes traffic from the Internet and sends it to your LAN. Insert the following in the hosts file in computer with SAM. In AirPort Admin Utility, click Add, put port 8000 in the two port fields and the IP of the machine which will be broadcasting in the Private Address field. You'll need to map public port 8000 to private port 8000, on the machine's LAN IP. Add a new port mapping to the machine on your LAN which is doing the broadcasting. In Airport Admin Utility, select your Base Station, click Configure, then click the Port Mapping tab.ģ. Find the port mapping configuration panel (which may instead be named port forwarding or virtual servers, depending on your router). For an AirPort Base Station, you'll use the AirPort Admin Utility, found in /Applications/Utilities.Ģ.

NICECAST ERROR CONNECTION FAILED HOW TO
The instructions on nicecast do explain very clearly how to do this!īut this is the basic's for using apple's airport: Guys you need to allow port access on your routers - port 8000 - 8001. i would need hand held step by step instructions. Icecast should not be listening on the same port as input.harbor, or liquidsoap will be unable to use it.
NICECAST ERROR CONNECTION FAILED MANUAL
I've gone through all the troubleshooting in the Nicecast manual for Lan Troubles, and it still doesn't resolve.ĭid i Need to set-up something else? And if it requires setting up SC_nfig or SC_nfig files. If that is the case, then it appears icecast is listening on port 9000 as well. Please check that it is running, then see the LAN Troubles page in the Nicecast manual or click Help for more details. I have the broadcasting URL and have set that up as a new server w the password. it was already a setting that i could choose on my belkin router. I've also opened the firewall for nicecast.

I've followed instructions in both the nicecast manual AND winamp and other forums that show how to set-up nicecast. so what i'm confused is- is nicecast as easy as installing, doing the set-up and connecting? bc that's not working.
